Three pets, three sets of records, and the move that started Wali

Getting their records

Right before we moved, Cali had a benign tumor removed. I needed a new vet quickly, especially with her history of seizure-like muscle contractions. I needed her full record in someone's hands fast, not scattered across old emails and photos.

Ellie, my sun conure, needed to go into boarding while we were in temporary housing. That meant proving she was current on her exam and disease screening. Every clinic and boarder had different rules, so what they asked for kept changing.

Luna, our husky, was due for her annuals, and our temporary housing needed proof of all her vaccines.

Getting their records sent over was a headache. Half of Cali's records came back "missing." For Luna, I could only get her latest vaccine, not her exam history.

Three pets, three different gaps, all at the same time.

The question I kept asking

I want to know everything about my pets' health. In that moment, it was all scattered. Some records were printed, some were buried in emails, and the rest were lost in my camera roll.

So I kept asking: why isn't this just a link I can send?

Why I built Wali

So I started building Wali: all of your pet's records in one place, and a way to share them in seconds. Vaccines, exam history, grooming, medications and the details that are easy to forget.

I'm building Wali because I lived this. Cali, Luna and Ellie are the reason it has a name and a purpose.

This is our first story. I'll use this space to share what we're building, what I'm learning and the pets behind it.
